How to Build an Evergreen Sales Funnel

Do you have a sales funnel in place currently that continuously works to convert new subscribers into paying customers?

If you currently have a low level program created and available for purchase on your website, this could be an easy addition to boost this income stream.

Step 1:

Make sure your free opt in gift (the gift you use to entice people to give you their name and email) is in some way connected to the program you want to offer.

Example: How to Lower Cholesterol in 8 Simple Steps is an opt in gift. It is a natural entry point that acts as a teaser for the program Heart Health Made Easy.

If your free gift does not tie in well with your program, consider creating a new free gift to make this function well.

Step 2:

Create a 3-5 part email series new subscribers will receive after they opt in for your free gift. The first couple emails do not sell, but provide supporting guidance that builds on what was delivered in the free gift. The last couple emails in the series will still provide a brief tip/valuable nugget, but you will also invite them to learn more about your program. This is a good place to offer a new subscriber savings to increase your sales conversions.

Example: Let’s say your free gift was a “Top 10 Steps…” type of gift. In this email series you could go a little deeper into 3 of the steps.

Step 3:

Duplicate your program sales page. Update price/copy to reflect “special new subscriber savings”.

Step 4:

Set up 3-5 part email series as an autoresponder new subscribers automatically receive after opting in for your free gift. You may choose to have one message send daily over 3-5 days or have a little space between messages, such as every 2-3 days.

This sales sequence works best if your program “stands alone”, meaning there is no live component, it’s home study format and can be completed any time. If the only programs you have currently created include a live component, then you could edit the process as follows…

Step 3 (alternate):

Add a waiting list opt in form to your program sales page. Lead new subscribers to this list as outlined above, but instead of purchasing, they will add themselves to your program waiting list. These individuals will be your “hottest” group of leads (i.e. those most interested in the program). Next time you launch the program, you could offer this group of individuals an extra bonus/enticement to take action now to convert greater sales from this group which has already expressed their interest.

If the program is starting in the not too distant future, you could opt to offer an early-bird savings instead of the waiting list opt in.
