Deciding which blog forum is right for your business is an important decision you’ll have to make. There are many options other than wordpress, such as blogger or typepad. WordPress is what I use and recommend.
With WordPress you have the option of a paid or free blog. WordPress.COM is free and WordPress.ORG requires a webhost.
Let’s just cover some of the pros and cons of each.
WordPress.COM
Pros – free, great for a beginner wanting to get a feel for WordPress and how blogging works
Cons – your blog url contains “wordpress.com”. For example, when I first started my blog url was enutritionservices.wordpress.com. (Check it out. Not a very attractive blog site, but you have to start somewhere!)
Here’s the biggest con in my opinion – You do not have full control of your site or content! Your site can be deleted at anytime and there is speculation that you do not even own the content you post. WordPress does.
All the work you are doing to increase your blog search engine optimization and site traffic is for the benefit of WordPress.
WordPress.ORG
Pros – You own the site. Your own the content. You control the url.
Cons – You must pay for a webhost.
Cost of webhosts vary, but tend to be between $4.95 and $9.95 per month to host a website or blog. Hostgator is a webhost I recommend.
All the best,
